Ovaettr (oh-vay-tur) AKA Orion Fern is a trans & queer motion designer, illustrator and arts educator. They love to share their passion for creativity with the world & help people by bringing their ideas to life! ['Ovaettr' means 'MONSTER' in Old Norse!] Pronouns for public use are he/him or they/them. Within trans or trans friendly spaces, xe/xem/xyr neopronouns are my favorite.
Freelancing with his business Ovaettr Art (est. 2017) - they work with a varied and vibrant clientele from streamers to personal art collectors. They seek contract or studio work in motion design. Xe is also seeking out illustration, character design, comics, 2D animation, and conceptual art career opportunities. From 2021-2023 taught as an arts educator part time online, teaching comics, cartooning, and hand-drawn 2D animation to mixed groups from grades 4th - 8th on the weekends via Zoom. He is now developing video lesson packages one can purchase later this year. They will also be soon offering online Zoom classes for 1 on 1 or public group gatherings starting Summer of 2024, covering topics of cartooning and comics for total beginners with an approach that works for kids and adults alike. Orion is an advocate and activist for LGBTQ+ rights because Orion is trans & queer. Helps in multiple places including donating to and volunteering with Equality Texas. In 2021-2022 completed the Equality Fellows Program to become a more well-equipped leader in the community. Originally began a project with the Equality Texas Fellows about an initiative through social media to get people to donate LGBTQ+ books that personally helped them on their own journey coming out and being their full selves. This project will be announced officially and open sometime in 2024 after security precautions are taken care of. Zinester and incredibly enthusiastic about small press media.
