An original watercolor and ink painting from Mermay 2022. A Portugese Man O' War is a type of jellyfish adjacent creature that is made up of many tiny creatures all bound together, dependent on each other for survival. They inflate a balloon like body part that helps them float on the waves. In my rendition for Mermay, I played on the "polycule" theme for this lovely bunch of folks madly in love with each other and needing each other to survive the sea's high tide.
